Samara Buckwheat Honey
Samara Buckwheat is a distinctive honey variety with an expressive character that immediately attracts attention with its deep caramel‑brown color, reminiscent of shades of burnt caramel or dark amber. Its dense, but surprisingly viscous consistency creates a pleasant feeling of saturation: honey slowly flows off the spoon, forming long, continuous threads. Upon first acquaintance with it, the bright, pungent aroma is especially impressive — it has field notes, slightly tart and lively, with a barely perceptible glandular tint, which gives the smell a special depth and personality.
The taste of this honey is just as memorable: it is rich, with a distinct bitter note that harmoniously intertwines with spicy accents, leaving a long, multifaceted aftertaste. All together — color, texture, aroma and taste — creates a whole image of buckwheat honey as a product with a strong, distinctive character, appreciated for its richness and expressiveness.
100 grams of natural buckwheat honey contains:
- proteins 0.3-0.8 g, fats 0.0 g, carbohydrates 76.8 - 80 g;
- vitamins and minerals: vitamin B2 0.038 mg, vitamin B6 0.1 mg, vitamin C 0.5 mg, calcium 6 mg, potassium 52 mg, magnesium 2 mg, iron 0.42 mg, zinc 0.22 mg, 0.04 mg copper.
The content of vitamins and minerals in different varieties of honey varies depending on the botanical origin of the nectar. Please note that the exact values may vary depending on the collection area, weather conditions, and other factors.
Due to its rich chemical composition, honey acts simultaneously as an effective preventive and therapeutic agent: it strengthens the immune system, suppresses inflammatory processes, helps with respiratory infections (including facilitates sputum discharge in bronchitis), accelerates skin regeneration in burns, wounds and ulcers, and restores strength in physical and mental fatigue. These properties determine its wide application — from auxiliary therapy and disease prevention to use in cooking.
Aloe juice with honey
To strengthen the immune system, prepare a remedy from aloe, lemon and honey:
Chop 50 g of aloe and lemon leaves (along with the zest), place in a dark glass jar and pour 100 g of liquid honey.
Take a teaspoon twice a day before meals. This mixture has a restorative effect and can support the body in respiratory diseases, gastrointestinal pathologies, joint disorders, gynecological and dermatological problems.
Pork ribs
INGREDIENTS FOR 6 SERVINGS
- 1 kg pork ribs
- vegetable oil for greasing
- For the marinade:
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 5-6 sprigs of parsley
- 3 tablespoons dark soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons rice wine
- 1 tsp rice or white wine vinegar
- 1 tbsp "5 spices" mixture (see "By the way")
- salt
- freshly ground black pepper
Step 1
Cut and, if desired, chop the ribs into 6-10 cm long pieces.
Step 2
For the marinade, chop the garlic and parsley. Thoroughly mix soy sauce, honey, rice wine and vinegar, a mixture of "5 spices", parsley and garlic. Pour the mixture into a thick plastic bag, put the pork ribs, seal or tie the bag and send it to the refrigerator for 8-10 hours. The package needs to be shaken from time to time.
Step 3
Remove the ribs from the marinade, dry with paper towels, place on a well-heated and greased grill and fry until tender, turning frequently, for about 12 minutes.
Step 4
If you are cooking in the oven, preheat it well in the grill + convection mode to 200 ° C. Bake the ribs on a foil-lined grill for about 20 minutes.
By the way
A mixture of "5 spices" (wuxianmian) can be made yourself by mixing 1 tbsp. l. clove buds, 1 tbsp. l. Sichuan peppercorns, 3 broken sticks of cinnamon or cassia, 6 stars of star anise and 1 tbsp. l. fennel seeds. Put all these ingredients in a coffee grinder and grind into a powder. This mixture is stored for about a month in a hermetically sealed container.
Before using honey, be sure to consult your doctor if you have a chronic illness or a predisposition to allergies.
